Iveta Vecmane

Riga, Latvia

Latvian designer Iveta Vecmane builds a wardrobe around pleating as a structural argument - taffeta skirts with architectural volume, blazers with peplums that move like a second silhouette, wrist slits as a recurring signature across wool coats and gowns. The materials run from silk taffeta and wool-silk blends down to cotton jersey T-shirts printed with velvet hearts and silver foil, which is a wider range than the tailoring would suggest. The bee-patterned suiting and 3D rose appliqués on a trench coat make clear that restraint is a choice, not a limitation.
